Molesend

The Goldberg family consists of Martin and myself (Samantha) and our two children, Alex and Shannon. We moved to County Durham in 2002 and currently live in a cottage on a farm. The beagles have a paddock to play in which keeps them happy surrounded by fields and they get to see sheep, cows and horses without any risk of the livestock getting chased! Martin is a lecturer and Sam works in a local veterinary practice specialising in small animals. Alex is soon to take his A levels with his interests varying from learning Japanese to Philosophy and Shannon her GCSE's with one of her interests being eventing her pony.
We have the Molesend beagles and also retain an interest in Sabinhay beagles founded by David Nicholson. We got our first beagle from David in 1985. Sam shows the beagles whilst Martin stays at home to do the donkey work. Shannon has also started showing in Junior Handling classes mainly with our oldest beagle Banshee. We only breed an occasional litter when we would like something new to show but you are always welcome to enquire as being involved in the showing world we generally know of reputable breeders to recommend for a pup. We have an interest in some of the older hound colours such as the mottles and believe in the old huntsman's saying that “a good hound is never a bad colour”. We would like to breed good beagles regardless of colour. There are a few other people showing mottles too and their success in the show ring proves that judges are not afraid to judge to the standard. Sam also judges and has recently given her first set of CC's. Marina Walker of Barughgreen beagles also has beagles based on the same line and you will find some of her beagles on the web site. We hope you enjoy looking at our hounds. Please email if you would like to comment and also if you have any health comments or enquiries. I am the KC Health Coordinator for beagles in the UK and keep records of any issues in the breed. Please remember however that if your beagle is unwell you need to talk to your vet first as delay may jeopardise wellbeing.
