Katie was a red brindle miniature wirehaired dachshund who was successfully shown as a puppy and junior. She came to live with us when she was a year old and produced ten puppies in two litters - all of them bitches.
She was a natural mother and given the opportunity she would seek out and "adopt" any puppies. Katie reared Jade's surviving puppy producing milk even though she was spayed.
The noisiest of the pack, Katie made a good house dog. Although she made visitors welcome she had her own rules which said that if people moved around in her home she would bark at them regardless of their length of stay!
A very affectionate girl she liked nothing better than a comfortable lap and loads of attention.
Sadly Katie went to Rainbow Bridge after a long illness. She is greatly missed.
